Educational leaders who guide the paths of more than 5 million teachers and students gathered this week to discuss how to create 21st century learning environments that utilize the most effective and modern tools in learning. The pinnacle of the event was the unveiling of an updated version of BrightBytes Clarity, the best tool for improving the impact of technology on learning.
“The BrightBytes Summit enabled our customers to interact and exchange ideas with some of the world’s most innovative educational thought leaders in a hands-on learning environment,” said Rob Mancabelli, Co-Founder and CEO, BrightBytes. “At the same time, we unveiled exciting new updates to our Clarity platform while receiving first-hand feedback and input from our customers. The summit was a unique opportunity for us to join forces and enhance the way in which we use technology to improve learning.”
Among the Clarity enhancements is an interactive Social layer that enables educational leaders to quickly learn about the latest educational research, data, and trends in areas that are relevant to their specific roles. A new Insights module lets users quickly see and attack their technology gaps by sharing step-by-step examples from real educational leaders who have overcome similar challenges. In addition, visually engaging Dashboards and Reports enable school and district leaders to elevate the conversation with board members and key stakeholders by providing comprehensive data and metrics-based recommendations.
“Our goal with Clarity was to build something that would truly improve the lives of students, teachers, and other educational leaders through smarter, more targeted uses of technology,” said Hisham Anwar, Co-Founder and CTO, BrightBytes. “These latest enhancements enable the leaders of our schools, districts and service agencies to take action more quickly, and to interact with others who have faced similar challenges. These updates are critical in allowing us to reach many more students.”
The 2013 BrightBytes Summit gave educators the chance to discover Clarity’s newest tools and features while providing feedback to the masterminds behind the platform. In addition, world famous author, educator, and speaker Will Richardson keynoted the event and introduced a unique view of learning in a networked world. David Weinberger, one of the most innovative and entertaining speakers in the industry, joined the event through an interactive discussion around 21st century learning. Game designers who are changing traditional views of teaching and learning through gamification provided interesting discussions on new ways in which students learn.
