WASHINGTON, April 23, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) will send Dr. Beth Bosley, President of Boron Specialties, to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, April 29, to testify before Congress on the latest iteration of the Chemicals in Commerce Act (CICA) legislation that would reform the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). "We are still reviewing the latest CICA draft, but we know meaningful progress is being made by Chairman Shimkus and members of this subcommittee to modernize TSCA," said Bill Allmond, SOCMA Vice President, Government and Public Relations. "CICA is a clear improvement over the status quo, and we remain hopeful that Members of Congress on both sides of the political aisle continue to collaborate with Chairman Shimkus in a bipartisan way on this important issue."
Next week senior executives from SOCMA member companies from across the country will travel to Capitol Hill to meet with Members of Congress and discuss the importance of TSCA reform and other legislative priorities that impact their businesses and the specialty chemical industry.
