“The president’s GROW Act kick-starts the process for reauthorizing a transportation plan that will create jobs and promote long-term economic development for communities and the nation. It is an important first step for investing in our transportation network and creating a national long-term transportation plan.
“NLC will evaluate the bill in the coming days. We applaud the Administration’s efforts to invest in communities and make transportation investments that contribute to economic growth. We appreciate the emphasis on empowering local decision-making in the process.
“The nation needs a plan that takes a holistic approach towards the role transportation plays in the economic development and well-being of our communities. We urge the Administration and Congress to quickly move on passing a plan that will create jobs and build a foundation for future growth.”
