Conroe Welding Supply joins Linde independent distributor network
- Security of supply, world-class technology are key
MURRAY HILL, N.J. and NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., July 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Linde LLC signed a contract to supply liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon to Conroe Welding Supply, Inc, an independent distributor located in Conroe, Texas. Conroe Welding Supply, for the past 35 years, has been serving the East Texas market with welding equipment and industrial and safety supplies, as well as industrial, beverage and medical gas products.
“We’re excited to have Conroe Welding Supply as part of our network of independent distributors,” said Jim Atkins, distributor sales manager. “With their five locations in East Texas, they provide Linde with an excellent channel to serve that expanding market from our air separation unit (ASU) in La Porte.”
The ASU is part of a more than $200 million Linde investment that will also include a gasification train and supporting equipment and facilities. The ASU, the largest such Linde plant in the U.S., will supply liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon to the rapidly growing market for industrial gases in the Houston Ship Channel area.
“With this new industrial gas capacity, Linde brings a much-needed security of supply to this market, as well as access to Linde’s world-class technology,” Atkins said. “Conroe Welding Supply is among the many customers who will take advantage of what Linde has to offer.”
“We are happy to have aligned our companies with a world class provider and producer of industrial gases,” said Roy Morton, CEO of Conroe Welding Supply. “We had great feedback from other distributors about the advantages of being part of the Linde distributor network. We look forward to expanding our mutually beneficial relationship with The Linde Group.”
