DuPont Reports Gains EARNINGS

DuPont, the third-biggest U.S. chemical maker, said that its third-quarter profit rose to $526 million, or 56 cents a share.
A year earlier, net income was $485 million, or 52 cents, DuPont said in a statement. DuPont fell 30 cents to $46.57 Monday in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. The shares have dropped 4.4 percent this year.
Dow Chemical is the biggest U.S. chemical maker by 2006 revenue, followed by Exxon Mobil.
