Mr. Kim Wanjoong, Oriental Minerals General Manager of Operations in Korea, Has Been Awarded the 2007 Technology Prize
Oriental Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: OTL) is pleased to announce that Mr. Kim Wanjoong, Oriental Minerals’ General Manager of Operations in Korea, has been awarded the 2007 Technology Prize from the Geological Society of Korea. The award was presented to Mr. Kim on October 26th, 2007 at Gangwon University, for making a critical contribution in the development of Korea geology as well as in the exploration of natural resources in Korea. Mr. Kim has 12 years experience in mineral exploration in Korea and Asia. He was previously employed by Indochina Goldfields Ltd/Ivanhoe Mining (1994-2003), exploring for gold on the Korean peninsula, as well as in Indonesia. Whilst working for Ivanhoe, he discovered the Eunsan and Moisan Au-Ag deposits, currently being mined by Sun Shin Mining in South Korea.
He was then employed by DeeWoo Engineering & Construction (2003-2005) and Jina Engineering (2005-2006), supervising drilling operations in Mongolia.
He is one of the few Korean geologists exposed to Western exploration methods and exploration concepts.
