Czech Airlines is planning to offer a regular, all cargo and long-haul flight in cooperation with Emirates SkyCargo.

The company will offer the greater part of the capacity of a Boeing 747-200F full freighter flying both directions on the Prague-Dubai-Hong Kong route.

Czech Airlines will be responsible for filling more than a half of the jumbo jet’s capacity. The remaining part will be the responsibility of Emirates Airlines, which will thereby be able to connect the rest of its network with Prague, via its Dubai hub. Czech Airlines will offer this cargo carriage option to its traditional business partners.

Petr Rehak, vice-president for sales at Czech Airlines, said: “For Czech Airlines, this is the first all-cargo long-haul route. Interesting opportunities are opening up for us with this product; we will offer new destinations in Asia, and our income from cargo carriage will increase significantly.”

Hiran Perera, Emirates’ senior vice president for cargo and freighters, said: “We are delighted to code-share with Czech Airlines and offer our customers in the Czech Republic direct freighter connections to the two strategically important cities of Dubai and Hong Kong. Czech traders can be rest assured that their exports and imports will now quickly and conveniently connect with our vast network in east Asia, Australasia, the Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Africa.”
