Kuehne + Nagel Teams Up With LSG Sky Chefs

Logistics company Kuehne + Nagel and LSG Sky Chefs, a provider of in-flight food services, have established a new joint venture, SkylogistiX.
Through the partnership, LSG Sky Chefs gains access to Kuehne + Nagel's facility network encompassing more than six million square meter logistics space in more than 400 distribution centers and warehouses located in 55 countries.
Walter Gehl, CEO of LSG Lufthansa Service, the parent company of LSG Sky Chef, said: "Through SkylogistiX, we will now be able to offer our customers a seamless 'one-stop shopping' from development, design and procurement of airline equipment, to the transportation as well as order and stock management using a single logistics platform worldwide. This partnership significantly improves our speed-to-market when it comes to setting up new warehousing and distribution models for our customers around the world."
Klaus-Michael Kuehne, executive chairman of the board of directors at Kuehne + Nagel, said: "We are delighted to start this cooperation with LSG Sky Chefs. Kuehne + Nagel has developed the airline-related logistics services over the past 10 years and I am confident that this new partnership will give it additional momentum."
