SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Cassatt(R) Corporation, a leader in making data centers more efficient, today announced the support of several leading technology vendors and data center design experts for its new Cassatt Active Response product line. Cassatt Active Response, which was unveiled today (please see separate press release, "Cassatt Launches Active Response Product Line to Help Companies 'Go Green' and Make Data Centers More Efficient, Reliable, and Responsive"), helps customers deliver breakthrough energy efficiency, application availability, security, and responsiveness at a fraction of the capital and operational costs they are currently spending.
Leading technology and solution vendors including BearingPoint, Citrix, Red Hat, Sun Microsystems, and Tata Consultancy Services, and data center design expert TELADATA announced support for the Cassatt strategy to help customers deliver greener data centers with Cassatt Active Response, and the underlying Cassatt Active Power Management(TM) technology.
"Sun is working with Cassatt so that customers can use their Active Response software alongside Sun's open source Solaris OS and energy efficient hardware," said Dave Douglas, vice president of eco responsibility for Sun Microsystems. "By combining Cassatt's and Sun's offerings, customers can see significant reductions in power and cooling costs while mitigating their impact on the environment."
"Using Citrix XenServer to consolidate servers can drastically reduce energy costs. Combine that with Cassatt's Active Power Management and you have a way to help customers cut a significant amount out of their energy bills," said Simon Crosby, CTO of the Virtualization and Management Division for Citrix Systems.
"BearingPoint is dedicated to helping clients get the most from their IT investments. We view green initiatives that promise to reduce energy with minimal resources as a win-win for everyone, and as a platform with the potential to transform the data center," said Frederic Veron, managing director, financial services infrastructure solutions at BearingPoint. "We are very pleased to be working with Cassatt on Active Power Management solutions that will enable our clients' data centers to intelligently power up or down in synch with business cycles and demand."
"TCS' Co-Innovation Network (COIN)TM is always looking for opportunities to leverage innovative applications that add value to our customers," said Anand Sivasubramaniam, vice president and head, TCS Innovation Labs - Infrastructure Services. "We have been excited with the Cassatt promise and extremely happy to witness the value it has brought to our customers and TCS' utility computing offering. The joint offering is helping TCS' customers dynamically manage power challenges and optimize cost implications. Our success with Cassatt has prompted TCS to leverage Cassatt as a key solution station for our Next Generation Infrastructure Lab that hosts and showcases utility computing solutions. The joint work by TCS and Cassatt provides software and delivery expertise that helps customers leverage the full spectrum of green IT benefits. Some of the key technologies that we are building are monitoring, reducing, and even bounding the power consumption to handle the power crisis, and its cost on cooling the IT infrastructure." Sivasubramaniam said.
"As a leader in large data center design, TELADATA understands the importance of integrating requirements from both IT operations and facilities," said Bob Brown, CEO of TELADATA LLC. "Actively controlling IT power consumption, in addition to pursuing other electrical and cooling efficiencies, will play a key role in greener data centers of the future."
"By building a flexible infrastructure we're helping customers drive costs out of their businesses," said Mindy Anderson, EcoSystem Director at Red Hat. "Through virtualization and automation we're creating an infrastructure that is responsive, adaptable and cost effective, and with Cassatt's help we're creating a more energy efficient data center."
