Bewkes Secures Top Job at Time Warner

–Time Warner is promoting Jeffrey Bewkes, its chief operating officer, to the role of chief executive to succeed Richard Parsons at the helm of the world’s biggest media company as of 1 January. Mr Parsons, who is also on the board of Citigroup, will remain chairman of the board at Time Warner. The decision also comes at a time when investors are demanding Time Warner take measures to boost its stock price, which has fallen back to about the same levels as when Mr Parsons took over five years ago.
