REC Solar Helps Agriland Farming Use the Sun for More Than Growing Pistachios

REC Solar has just completed a 27 kilowatt (kW) solar electric system for Agriland Farming Company, Inc., a nut and fruit grower specializing in permanent crops. The solar electric system is projected to supply over 90% of the overall electricity usage at Agriland's office headquarters and will produce close to 40,000 kilowatt hours annually.
As Madera County's largest nut grower and permanent operation, Agriland Farming Company, places high value on the importance of good corporate citizenship and sensitivity to the environment. Blake Davis of Agriland said, "We hope that our commitment to solar and other environmentally prudent activities will cause others in the community to investigate the value of similar projects within their operations."
Agriland's solar electric system consists of one hundred and fifty-three (153) Mitsubishi 180-watt UD4 panels and five (5) SMA 6000-watt inverters with LCD & display. Additionally, the system includes a web-based monitoring system provided by Energy Recommerce. The web based monitoring system will allow Agriland Farming Company to track and store their system's energy output along with other vital information.
Agriland chose REC Solar to design and build their system due to REC Solar's extensive experience providing Agri-Businesses with solar electric systems.
According to REC Solar's Commercial Sales Consultant, Ryan Park, "Agriland Farming realized that rising energy costs were a threat to the long term profitability of their operations. Installing solar electricity on their corporate headquarters is a great step to control those costs and provide a competitive advantage now and in the future."
