Small Fire Disrupts Atlanta Airport

A small electrical fire cut power in one concourse at the Atlanta airport Friday morning, causing scores of flights to be delayed or canceled.
Power was restored to Concourse C at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport within four hours, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. But delays continued into the afternoon.
AirTran, with a majority of its gates on that concourse, canceled 48 flights, while Atlantic Southeast, a regional feeder for Delta, canceled 30.
It's been a tough morning for our passengers and crew members, but we expect to recover this afternoon, said Dave Hirschman, an AirTran spokesman.
Herschel Grangent said the fire in an electrical cabinet was reported at about 6:30 a.m. and was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries, and the concourse was not evacuated.
