HOUSTON, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Larry Kellner, Continental Airlines chairman and CEO, today issued the following statement after President Bush and Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Mary Peters discussed travel plans for the holiday period:

“I’d like to express my thanks to Secretary Peters and her staff at DOT for their efforts in establishing a plan that will offer the traveling public an improved travel experience during the holiday season. We applaud Secretary Peters for implementing important capacity improvements in New York/New Jersey, including setting aside military airspace, which will benefit all travelers through the area. I have recently spoken with Secretary Peters and discussed Continental’s plans to improve the holiday travel experience for our customers. We will continue to work with the Secretary and the FAA in our mutual efforts to ensure that delays in the New York/New Jersey area are reduced.”
