Petronas to Supply LNG to Osaka Gas

Petronas, Malaysia's state-owned oil firm, will supply liquefied natural gas to Japanese utility Osaka Gas, according to Thomson Financial.

The 15-year deal will begin in 2009 and as per the terms and conditions of the agreement Petronas's subsidiary, Malaysia LNG, will supply in excess of 900,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) a year to Osaka.

The LNG will be exported from the Petronas facility in Sarawak, Malaysia to LNG terminals owned by Osaka in the ports of Senboku and Himeji. The transport will be facilitated by a Petronas subsidiary.

The Bintulu LNG terminal in Sarawk has a total production capacity of 23 million tonnes per year.
