SSE Generation Renews Maintenance Agreement With Siemens
Siemens Power Generation has received an order from SSE Generation Limited, a subsidiary of Scottish and Southern Energy, for the extension of an existing maintenance agreement for the Peterhead power plant in Scotland. The term of the new agreement is 18 years.
The Peterhead combined-cycle power plant has an installed capacity of approximately 1,200MW. Siemens Power Generation built the plant as a turnkey project in 2000 and immediately assumed responsibility for gas turbine services.
The scope of supply for the extended agreement includes services for the three SGT5-4000F gas turbines and the generator, and the supply of components for the electrical and instrumentation and control systems.
Matthew Chinn, head of the service business for Europe and Africa at Siemens Power Generation, said: “With the development of various upgrade options Siemens has in recent years made decisive advances in modernization and optimization of the installed gas turbine fleet and thus made an important contribution towards efficient, environmentally friendly power plant operation.”
