Air France-KLM registers impressive results

PARIS, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) — The Air France-KLM group announced Thursday “excellent” results in the second quarter of the 2007-08 financial exercise, thanks to dynamism in the passenger transport activity by long-distance carriers.

As of Sept. 30, the group’s annual turnover was 6.49 billion euros, reflecting a progression of 5.8 percent compared with the same period last year.

Exploitation result progressed to 725 million compared with 568million as of Sept. 30 2006. The group’s profits jumped by 96.8 percent to 736 million euros.

The group attributes these results to two principal reasons: passenger transport activity was very dynamic during the quarter, while cargo activity confirmed the resumption of traffic during the quarter.
