100000 Barrels Daily Increase of Oil Production Next Year

A programme has been worked out to increase oil and natural gas reserves and production, lure more investments and turn Egypt into an international oil trade centre, said Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi. Work is currently being underway to intensify exploratory operations and develop a number of discovered oil and natural gas fields, especially in the Gulf of Suez and the Western Desert areas to put them on the production map, Fahmi made the remarks Sunday while inspecting oil fields in the Gulf of Suez and south Sinai areas.
