Verizon Wireless Expands Network in Essex County

In an effort to provide wireless service for residents and commuters in Essex County, Verizon Wireless has expanded its network with four new cell sites.

The new Essex County cell sites is expected to improve network coverage and capacity in Newark, along Summer Avenue, between Delevan Avenue East and 4th Avenue East and between Parker Street and Mt Pleasant Avenue. In Newark it also expanded along Clinton Avenue, between Harrison Place and Baldwin Avenue. In South Orange, along Route 510/South Orange Avenue, between Wyoming Avenue and Ward Place and in the area of the South Mountain Reservation, along Route 510, Brookside Drive and Cherry Lane.

Verizon Wireless’s high-speed third-generation wireless broadband network has been enhanced with EVDO Rev. A technology. This enhancement allows customers, who use the company’s business data service, BroadbandAccess, to interact with web-based applications, download music over the air, access to email, everyday corporate data, the internet, and more at speeds that are eight to nine times faster than before.
