Gas Natural and Lantaron Town Council to Build 800MW Power Plant

Gas Natural and Lantaron Town Council have signed an agreement to build an 800MW combined-cycle plant with an investment of E500 million, to equip the Basque Country with new power infrastructures.
Gas Natural said that the construction of the new energy infrastructure will balance the power supply and demand in the Basque Country. In addition, the location of the generators in Lantaron offers a competitive advantage to consolidate the economic growth in the nearby municipalities and create local employment.
Under the agreement, Gas Natural said that it will co-operate with the town council in financing or promoting environmental, socio-cultural and sponsorship work so as to improve the quality of life of residents in the municipality.
