Ebrary Announces Live Web-Based Training Program
Posted on: Monday, 3 December 2007, 12:00 CST
In response to input from customers and partners worldwide, ebrary®, a leading provider of e-content services and technology, today announced that it has launched a new live, ongoing training program hosted by ebrary's new Training Manager, Paul Webb. Customers, end-users, and anyone interested in learning more about ebrary's products and services are welcome to attend.
"ebrary is excited to offer this new program, as we realize based on feedback from the marketplace that training is critical to both increasing usage and providing a better and richer end-user experience," said Kevin Sayar, ebrary's President and Co-founder. "In our recent 2007 Faculty e-Book Survey of more than 900 faculty members, 403 respondents indicated that one of the primary difficulties associated with information resources is that students do not know how to use electronic resources provided by the library. Furthermore, in our Global E-book Survey of more than 580 librarians and information professionals announced in June 2007, lack of training was identified as one of the top four reasons for low e-book usage."
ebrary's new training program takes place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at a variety of times to meet the needs of its global customer base. The program includes the following three back-to-back modules that last approximately an hour each, including time for questions and feedback.
1. End-User -- provides an overview of how to use the current ebrary Reader™ and interface.
2. ebrary's New Java-based Reader -- highlights new features of ebrary's Java-based Reader, currently in beta.
3. Administrative -- provides instruction on using the ebrary Ordering Platform (eBOP), how to access MARC records and ebrary usage statistics, and how to customize ebrary InfoTools™ to integrate ebrary products with multiple online resources.
