AAA Texas: Weekend Gas Watch
Posted on: Friday, 7 December 2007, 03:00 CST
The Texas average dropped six cents to $2.90 a gallon as every city surveyed this week posted a decrease, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. The nationwide average fell six cents to $3.03 a gallon.
"The drop in the gasoline price is mainly due to the sharp drop in the oil price and demand for gas appears to be flattening out this holiday season," said AAA Texas spokesperson Rose Rougeau. "The price of crude has gone from nearly a $100 a barrel to $87 a barrel."
Fort Worth replaces Galveston with the lowest average on the survey this week at $2.85 a gallon. Texarkana has the highest average at $2.97 a gallon - seven cents below last week's average.
