Asgabat, 11 December: Today President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan completed his three-day visit to Turkmenistan.

“I am pleased with the results of my official visit. I would like to stress that it was our fifth meeting (with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow) this year, which speaks volumes in itself,” Rahmon said at the airport of Turkmenbasy before his departure for Tajikistan.

“Several agreements that will give a strong impetus to bilateral cooperation were signed during the visit,” the Tajik president noted.

“An air service [between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan] will be launched, and a transport corridor will be opened. We reached an agreement on increasing supplies of electricity, gas and fuel and lubricants to Tajikistan. Tajikistan will supply aluminium to Turkmenistan according to its demand,” Emomali Rahmon summed up.

“The days of Tajik culture will be held in Turkmenistan at President Gurbanguly Malikgulyyewic’s initiative as early as next year,” Rahmon noted, stressing that he personally would take part in opening them.
