AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Site Controls, LLC, a leading provider of enterprise-based energy management, operational intelligence, and grid efficiency solutions, announced today that it was honored by the Austin Business Journal as one of the most innovative companies in the technology- rich central Texas area.
The Tech Innovation Awards were established to highlight Austin's re-emerging technology community and the contributions the innovations from those companies are making to society at large. Site Controls joined 31 other area companies, also selected as leading innovators by judges from the Journal, at an awards breakfast held in Austin.
Site Controls is a pioneer of clean energy, operational controls, and grid efficiency solutions. The innovative technology platform provides the crucial link between energy providers and consumers. The solution optimizes daily energy consumption and reduces emissions by centrally controlling major energy users, like HVACs and lighting, in all the locations across a commercial customer's enterprise.
With the energy efficiency system in place, Site Controls' Energy Services Division can then execute predefined, business-friendly demand response strategies, effectively reducing peak energy usage with little to no consequence to customer businesses. The system's unique aggregation and auction capabilities allow Energy Services to treat the energy usage across all sites as a single resource, intelligently lowering the least consequential loads first, and at the same time providing a clean, carbon-negative generation-quality resource back to the electric grid.
"We are very pleased to be recognized with this group of highly innovative companies, especially those working, as we are, toward developing clean energy solutions," said Dan Sharplin, CEO of Site Controls. "The growing energy crisis we are now facing offers many opportunities for exciting innovations. At Site Controls, we are proud to be executing daily on our vision to deliver technology that will continue to revolutionize the energy industry."
Site Controls was also recently recognized at the Platt's Global Energy Awards as a finalist for the 2007 Commercial Technology of Year.
