U.S. Dollar Higher in European Trading

LONDON – The U.S. dollar was higher against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.4394, down from $1.4398 late Monday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
-113.37 Japanese yen, up from 113.02
-1.1515 Swiss francs, up from 1.1503
-1.0099 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0064
The British pound was quoted at $2.0133, down from $2.0213.
Gold traded in London at $796.25 per troy ounce, up from $794.05 late Monday.
In Zurich, gold traded at $794.45 bid per troy ounce, up from $791.90.
Silver opened in London at $13.82, up from $13.78.
