Antiterrorist Exercise Held at Russian Nuclear Power Plant
A planned tactical training exercise to deal with a potential terrorist attack on the Smolensk nuclear power plant was held on 19 December by the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee, ITAR-TASS reported on the same day.
“Stopping the actions of a terrorist group and dealing with the consequences of a terrorist attack were practised at an auxiliary building of the Smolensk nuclear power plant. Everything went as planned, and the planned results were achieved,” the station’s information centre told ITAR-TASS.
Units from the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Interior Ministry, the Emergencies Ministry, and specialists from the Smolensk nuclear power station and the municipal administration of Desnogorsk were involved in the exercise, said the report.
