Imperium Renewables Announces CEO Transition
Imperium Renewables announced the transition of Martin Tobias from his roles as CEO of the company and chairman of its Board of Directors. Imperium’s Board has appointed founder and current president John Plaza as interim CEO and current director Nancy Floyd as chairman.
Imperium has grown in the last three years from a simple idea into a high quality operator of the largest biodiesel production facility in the nation. The company is currently operating its 100 million gallons per year Grays Harbor production facility at full capacity and is experiencing solid customer demand for its fuel. Imperium has also transitioned its original Seattle Biodiesel facility into a research and development lab dedicated to identifying and developing next generation feedstocks, like jatropha and algae.
About Imperium Renewables
Imperium Renewables is a leading producer of biodiesel, and celebrated the opening of its Imperium Grays Harbor production facility. The facility, at a capacity of 100 million gallons per year, is the largest in the United States. Biodiesel is a clean burning alternative fuel made from oils derived from farm crops, and can be used in any conventional diesel engine. It can be used in pure form (100 percent biodiesel) or in a “blended” form, in which it replaces a percentage of petroleum diesel.
