Wind turbine supplier Siemens Wind Power has appointed Dirk Wernicke as its new managing director and head of engineering.
Siemens said that together with Gernot Ziegeldecker as head of commercial administration, the appointment of Mr Wernicke completes the new management team in the Bremen-based firm. The company is responsible for sales and service of Siemens wind turbines on the German market.
As the new managing director, Mr Wernicke succeeds Norbert Giese, who is leaving the company at his own request.
Mr Wernicke said: "Our strength lies in a mixture of know-how gained from years of experience in this field, proven technology and close proximity to our customers. We, as a company headquartered in Bremen, still focus a major part of our energy on the German market. We also aim to use our local strengths to support our customers by providing convincing solutions for new markets."
