Wheels Offers Free Rides on New Year’s Eve

Wheels again will provide free bus rides on New Year’s Eve in the Tri-Valley.

Free service will be provided all day Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The free rides are meant to encourage safe holiday travel and keep people who have had too much to drink away from their cars.

Buses will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, except for routes 20 and 70, which will remain on a normal weekday schedule.

Routes 3, 8, 12, 15 and 51 will be extended to operate until 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Routes that do not normally operate on Saturdays will not be running Monday.

On New Year’s Day, all routes will operate on a Sunday schedule.
