AAI to Construct Airport Terminal in Jaisalmer

The Airports Authority of India has decided to construct an airport terminal in Jaisalmer in Punjab by 2010, after the Indian Air Force airstrip was recently opened for civilian traffic, The Economic Times said, quoting a PTI report.

A Murugson, executive director, Airports Authority of India, said: “We are going to kick-off the construction of INR600 million project very soon at Jailsamer. Every foreign tourist visiting India wants to visit Jaisalmer and the expansion of air services will definitely attract more number of tourists.”

The terminal, due to be completed in two years time, is expected to have a capacity to park three aircraft at a time.
