France-based construction company Vinci has acquired a 3.3% stake in the French government-owned airport operator Aeroports de Paris, as part of its long-term goal to expand in airports.

However, the company said that it would not buy any more shares unless the government reduced its majority stake from 68.4%.

A company release said: “Vinci does not intend to increase its current stake outside the context of any changes in the state’s shareholding.

“Vinci will support the strategy for profitable growth put in place by Aeroports de Paris (ADP) management.”
