Sonelgaz to Invest $30 Billion

According to Al-Khabar newspaper (January 6, 2008), Mr. Noureddine Bouterfa, CEO of Algeria’s state-owned power company, Sonelgaz, announced that Sonelgaz is planning to invest $30 billion until 2017 through several projects that will bring its electricity capacity up to 11,000 Megawatts. Mr. Bouterfa added that his company is to build 3 big power stations with a capacity of 1200 Megawatt each. He added that these projects fall within partnership investments estimated at about $5.2 billion.
