Energy Commodities Up in Early Trading

The four major energy commodities posted gains as trading began Tuesday on the New York Mercantile Exchange with oil at about $97 a barrel.
Crude oil was up $1.72, trading at $96.81. At $2.6386 a gallon, heating oil was up 0.0451 cents.
Gasoline gained 0.0416 cents, trading at $2.4714 per gallon at midmorning. Natural gas was at $7/910, a 0.031-cent increase.
At the pump, the average cost of a gallon of unleaded gasoline was $3.105 Tuesday, down slightly from $3.106 Monday, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
