SkyWest Airlines Names Klen P. Brooks Vice President - Flight Operations

ST. GEORGE, Utah, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. , is pleased to announce the promotion of Klen P. Brooks to vice president -- flight operations, effective immediately. Brooks replaces Bradford R. Holt, who in December was named president and chief operating officer of SkyWest's sister carrier, Atlantic Southeast Airlines. As vice president -- flight operations, Brooks will be responsible for all areas of flight operations, including the airline's flight standards, flight control and crew scheduling, and will oversee the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures to ensure the highest possible level of safety and efficiency.

"Klen's operational expertise, his extensive background with the company and his aviation experience clearly make him the right fit for this position," said Chip Childs, SkyWest Airlines president and chief operating officer. "These attributes, coupled with his ability to work together with SkyWest's 2,820 industry-leading pilots, will prove invaluable in his new role."

Brooks' SkyWest career began in 1972 in St. George, Utah, where he handled reservations and fueled aircraft. He became a line pilot in 1974, and his diverse and immense flight operations experience includes instructor, check airman, chief pilot, system chief pilot and most recently director - flight operations. Brooks has served in various flight operations management positions since 1982, and has flown every aircraft type SkyWest has operated, from the single-engine Cherokee six to the three variants of the Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet in the airline's current fleet.

Brooks holds a degree in Aero Technology from Dixie College. He and his wife, Shanette, live in Dammeron Valley, Utah with their four children.
