Analyst Likes Baltimore-Based FTI Consulting, Comtech
FTI Consulting Inc., of Baltimore, a provider of forensic accounting, and Comtech Telecommunications Corp., of Melville, N.Y., were recommended by Jason Votruba, portfolio manager at UMB Scout Small Cap Fund. Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., a subsidiary that makes mobile data communications systems, is based in Germantown. Smaller U.S. companies, like FTI, with the ability to profit from the subprime crisis are good investment picks, Votruba said on Bloomberg Television. Comtech, a supplier of mobile data communications equipment, benefits from an “overburdened’ satellite communications system and has won several government contracts, Votruba said.
