Bomb Scare Closes Sofia Airport
Posted on: Sunday, 20 January 2008, 12:00 CST
A bomb hoax prompted security officials to evacuate and shut down Bulgaria's Sofia Airport Sunday.
All airport activity was halted for more than an hour, the Sofia News Agency reported.
An anonymous female phoned police around 1 p.m. (7 a.m. EST) reporting a bomb in a building in the airport's older section, the news agency said.
A bomb disposal team failed to find any explosives and the evacuation was lifted.
