Skywest Airlines has signed a contract with Newcrest Operations, a member of the Newcrest Mining Group, for air charter services from Perth to Telfer, Australia, and return.
The contract is for the provision of scheduled jet charter services between Perth and Newcrest's Telfer Gold Mine. The contract provides for Skywest to operate regular fly-in fly-out passenger services several times each week using F100 jets with 100 seat capacity over a round trip distance of approximately 1400 nautical miles.
Jeff Chatfield, chairman, said: "I believe that this is a world-class scheduled airline charter opportunity. Newcrest is one of the world's major gold mining producers. This scheduled charter provides Skywest with a reliable revenue base and the opportunity to continue to expand. Skywest will continue to pursue further scheduled charter contracts from the resources sector."
