Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Introduces New Online Tool to Make Redeeming Frequent-Flier Miles Easier

SEATTLE, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan today introduced a new online tool at http://www.alaskaair.com/ that makes it easier for customers to redeem frequent-flier miles for award travel on Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.
When customers select a desired route, the "Award Finder" displays all available award seats each day for the month selected. Customers previously could search for award seats only one day at a time.
"We strive to make more award seats available than other carriers," said Rick Rasmussen, Alaska's director of customer loyalty. "Our new 'Award Finder' makes it even easier to find the best award itinerary available for travel where and when you want to go."
The new tool allows customers to see all award-seat options for one-way and roundtrip itineraries on Alaska and Horizon, including Saver and Peak award seats, coach and first-class seats, and award-sale seats. Customers can book a different award-seat type each way on a roundtrip.
The Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan offers some of the industry's most attractive award levels when booking online, with Saver Awards starting at 7,500 miles one way and 15,000 miles roundtrip. It is also the only program among major U.S. carriers allowing customers to redeem frequent-flier miles for one-way travel at half the price of roundtrip travel.
Members can earn and redeem mileage on more than a dozen airlines, including more major U.S. airlines than any other frequent-flier program. The program also offers opportunities to earn miles through an extensive network of partners, including Alaska Airlines credit and debit cards, Mileage Plan Shopping, Mileage Plan Dining, Safeway and more than 30 hotel and car-rental partners worldwide.
The Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan consistently is honored at the Freddie Awards, among the travel industry's most prestigious consumer-generated awards, earning "Best Elite Level" recognition for the past two years and "Best Web Site" for two of the past three years.
Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air together serve 92 cities through an expansive network in Alaska, the Lower 48, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico. For reservations, visit http://www.alaskaair.com/. For more news and information, visit the Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Newsroom at alaskaair.com/newsroom.
