Power Consumption Hits Record in Chubu Elec. Areas

Nagoya, Jan. 23 (Jiji Press)–Chubu Electric Power Co. said Wednesday electricity consumption in its service areas rose to yet another wintertime daily record on Tuesday.
Chubu Electric, which supplies electricity to Nagoya and surrounding areas, said power consumption totaled 487,985,000 kilowatt-hours on Tuesday, surpassing 482,726,000 kilowatt-hours marked last Thursday.
Power consumption was boosted by strong demand for heating.END
