Meeting on Proposed Plant Planned

Great Northern Power Development has scheduled a public meeting about its proposed $1.4 billion coal gasification project near South Heart.

The meeting, the first in a series, will be held at 6:30 p.m. MST today in the South Heart gymnasium.

Great Northern Power Development will provide a project construction, operation and impact overview, along with an update on permit studies and the permit process.

The company’s permit consultants will review mining practices, water management, and affects on public roads and utilities. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

For those not able to attend the public meeting in South Heart, another informational meeting will be scheduled for Dickinson in February. Additional public meetings will be scheduled as new information becomes available.
