Jet Airways, Kingfisher Eyeing Emirates’ Stake in Sri Lankan Airlines

Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines are reportedly trying to acquire 43.6% stake in Sri Lankan Airlines currently being held by Emirates Airlines, The Economic Times has said quoting aviation industry officials.
However, sources at Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines declined to comment on the issue. Wolfgang Prock Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, has been quoted as saying: “We cannot confirm any development on this.”
According to reports, the shareholder pact between Sri Lankan Airlines and Emirates Airlines, which will expire on April 1, 2008, is not likely to be extended.
