Petroleum Minister Sameh Fahmi discussed on Sunday with the Head of the Oil and Gas Producers’ Federation in Russia furthering cooperation in the oil and gas industries field. The two sides also probed luring Russian investments in the oil industry field and benefiting from the Russian expertise in the oil field.The Russian official expressed the desire of Russian companies to increase their investments in the Egyptian oil sector. He said that there is a strong desire to cooperate with Egypt as regards extending pipelines to transfer oil and gas.Meantime, Russia will dispatch the first wheat shipments to Egypt as of the new agricultural season in Russia. Minister of Supply Dr. Hassan Khidr said that Russian wheat will be received in return for Egyptian goods. The Minister made the statement after meeting with members of a Russian delegation which is currently visiting Egypt. The Russian delegation will also consider joint projects in the field of water desalination and joint production of passengers planes.
