East West Resource Corporation-Multiple Copper Intercepts at Cherry Hill
Posted on: Monday, 4 February 2008, 03:00 CST
East West Resource Corporation (TSX VENTURE: EWR) and its 50% joint venture partner, Eyeconomy Holdings PLC (PLUS: EYE) have received assay results for hole NWT-07-01 which tested the Cherry Hill Zone. Trenching this past summer returned grab samples up to 3.61% copper, 0.48% zinc, 123g/t silver, and 1.31g/t gold. Hole NWT-07-01 intersected three zones of pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization hosted in a broad zone of silicified felsic volcanic rocks. Highlights include 0.40% copper, 0.01% zinc, 7.04g/t silver, 0.05g/t gold over 10 metres, and 1.56% copper, 0.09% zinc, 35.40g/t Silver, 0.30g/t gold over 0.8 metres. The Cherry Hill Zone consists of a cluster of copper-zinc occurrences located approximately 600 metres north east of the Gazooma Copper Zone. Trenching this past summer demonstrated that these individual occurrences are related and are hosted within a broad zone of intense alteration. The minor amount of historical drilling was insufficient to define the geometry of the Cherry Hill Zone and more drilling is planned during the on-going diamond drill program.
Assays have also been received for all remaining holes from last falls diamond drill program and are summarized below.
Holes GAZ-07-07 and GAZ-07-09 tested the Gazooma Copper Zone approximately 20 metres north of the cross section reported in News Releases on Nov. 28, 2007 and Jan. 16, 2008. Both holes intersected the Gazooma Copper Zone and the second lower stringer pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite zone. Highlights include 1.30% copper, 0.02% zinc, 14.8g/t silver, 0.19% gold over 1.72 metres, including 2.08% copper, 0.02% zinc, 20.8g/t silver, and 0.17g/t gold over 0.5 metres (GAZ-07-07) from the Gazooma Copper zone and 0.24% copper, 0.01% zinc, 1.3g/t silver, 0.04 g/t gold over 3.8 metres, including 0.98% copper, 0.02% zinc, 5.7g/t silver, 0.15g/t gold over 0.7 metres in the second lower stringer zone (GAZ-07-07).
Holes TK-07-03 and TK-07-05 tested the western part of the IP anomaly connecting the Gazooma Copper Zone and Teck Zone. Disseminated chalcopyrite was intersected in both holes; however further testing is planned to fully evaluate the potential of the 600 metre long parallel IP anomalies that connects the two zones.
Hole TK-07-04 tested a new deep IP anomaly located approximately 600 metres south of the Gazooma Copper Zone. Disseminated chalcopyrite mineralization was intersected throughout the hole returning up to 0.20% copper, 0.11% zinc, 4.5g/t silver, and 0.03 gold over 7.17 metres. More drilling in the current program is planned to further test this anomaly.
Hole TH-07-03 was designed further evaluate zinc mineralization intersected in TH-07-01 but returned no significant results.
A drill has been mobilized to the property and drilling is set to resume shortly.
