American Airlines January Load Factor Up

American Airlines has reported January load factor of 76.6%, an improvement of 1.3 points compared to the same period in 2007. American Airlines has boarded 7.7 million passengers in January 2008.
American Airlines has reported that its traffic has increased 0.2% year-over-year as capacity decreased 1.5%. Domestic traffic decreased 2.2% year-over-year on 3.6% less capacity. International traffic increased by 4.4% relative to 2007 on a capacity increase of 2.1%.
American Eagle, an airline partner of American Airlines, has reported a load factor of 65.3% in January 2008, an improvement of 0.9 points compared to the same period in 2007. American Eagle's traffic decreased 4% year over year as capacity decreased 5.3%. It has boarded 1.5 million passengers in January.
