KPN to Cut 2,000 More Jobs
February 5, 2008
Amsterdam telecommunications giant KPN announced a workforce reduction of 2,000 jobs on Tuesday, targeting completion of the decrease by 2010.
KPN cut 8,000 jobs in 2005 and posted a net profit of $2.34 billion for the fourth quarter of 2007, up four-fold from fourth quarter profits in 2006.
The company will also downsize its external workforce by 1,300 as it redefines itself as a broad media company.
The job cuts will help safeguard profits, Expatica reported.
