Southwest Airlines January Traffic Up

Southwest Airlines has reported 5.5 billion revenue passenger miles in January 2008, a 5.9% increase from the 5.2 billion revenue passenger miles flown in January 2007.
Southwest Airlines' available seat miles increased 5.3% to 8.5 billion from the January 2007 level of 8.1 billion. The load factor for the month was 64.2%, compared to 63.8% for the same period 2007.
The company has also announced that it has enplaned 7.6 million passengers in January 2008, an increase of 5.1% compared to the same period in 2007. Revenue passengers carried were 6.6 million, up 4.9 % compared to 6.3 million in January 2007.
