Verizon has activated a new cell site in Navarre, Ohio, to improve its voice and data network northeast along US Route 62 from southwest of the town of Justus to State Route 21, south along Pigeon Run Road SW from Camp Creek Road to US Route 62 and south along State Route 21 from Navarre to just west of the town of Rockville.

Verizon said that with the improved network coverage, more customers can use their wireless phones to make calls, send and receive email and text, picture and video messages. They can also download music, games, ringtones and view high-quality videos.

The company has claimed that it has invested nearly $44 billion since it was formed to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. In 2007, the company has invested nearly $190 million in its Ohio network improvements.

Roger Tang, president of Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia region at Verizon, said: “Network reliability is the No 1 reason that customers choose and stay with Verizon Wireless. Getting through on the first try and maintaining a connection are important to our customers. We continue to optimize our network so that it remains the most reliable in the nation.”
