Maersk Oil Wins Two Exploration Licenses in Norway

Danish exploration and production firm Maersk Oil has been preliminarily awarded two new exploration licenses, PL472 and PL474, in Norway's latest licensing round.
Maersk Oil said that exploration license PL472 pertains to blocks 6406/2 and 6406/3. It owns a 35% interest in this license.
The Danish firm said that exploration license PL474 pertains to blocks 6406/1 and 6406/2. Maersk Oil owns a 30% stake in this license. Both the exploration licenses awarded to Maersk Oil are operated by German crude oil and natural gas producer Wintershall.
Anders Wurtzen, Maersk Oil's head of business services, said: "The commitment work programs for the new licenses comprise of the re-processing of existing 3D seismic data and technical evaluation work. Potential exploration drilling will be determined at a later date."
