American Home Food Products (OTCBB:AHFP) announced that it will begin doing business as Artisanal Premium Cheese, Inc. to align the company's emerging luxury brand with its corporate identity. The formal name change requires shareholder approval which the Company will seek at its annual meeting.
The Company's president, Daniel W. Dowe commented, "Artisanal Premium Cheese is fast becoming a major luxury brand in a fragmented, unbranded market. It can be found in premium hotels like Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Wynn Casino, fine dining restaurants all over the country and in premium retail catalogues like Williams-Sonoma and Neiman Marcus. We pride ourselves on our expertise in selecting the finest artisan and handcrafted cheese from around the world and our consumers and co-sponsors regard Artisanal as a lifestyle brand more than just a food offering. Whether the occasion is in home dining or fine dining, Artisanal cheeses carry an upscale profile from taste to presentation."
The Company also announced December 2007 sales of $1.3 million, the highest in the company's history.
"December was a strong holiday season for Artisanal comprised of repeat and new business from consumers who are increasingly discovering the pleasure of handcrafted cheeses," stated Dowe. "This is a growing market, and we are initiating market segment expansion plans to gain further entry into premium food retailers as well as private jet companies and luxury cruise ships. We are also launching more co-sponsored classes in our state-of-the-art Cheese Center in Manhattan with leading branded wine and spirit companies such as Zachys and Pernod and the high-end consumer appliance company Viking."
The company's stock trading symbol, "AHFP", will remain unchanged until further notice.
