Russian Company to Lay 395m-Euro Turkmen-China Pipeline

In line with the national programme of developing the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan up to 2030, and with the aim of implementing provisions envisaged in the general agreement between the governments of Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China on the construction of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline and supplies of Turkmen natural gas to the People’s Republic of China, dated 3 April 2006, the president [Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow] of Turkmenistan has signed a resolution.

The resolution authorizes the Turkmengaz [Turkmen gas] state concern to conclude a contract with the Stroytransgaz [Gas Transportation and Construction] open joint-stock company (the Russian Federation) on the turn-key construction of the 188-km Malay- Bagtyyarlyk gas pipeline with its diameter of 1,420 mm, which goes across the Amu Darya river, as well as a gas purifying and dehydrating facility and a gas measuring station. The project’s total cost is 395,445,620 euros (VAT included).
