Houston Technology Center Presents the Energy Technology Venture Capital Conference

Houston Technology Center (HTC), the largest technology business accelerator in Texas, is pleased to present its 4th annual Energy Technology Venture Capital Conference (ETVCC), taking place March 6 -- 7, 2008 at the Marriott Houston Westchase. This yearly event brings together cutting edge energy technology startups and investors in an interactive celebration of innovation.

With a rapidly growing worldwide demand for energy, the current resources are no longer sufficient to ensure the required supply. The need for technological innovation within the industry has become a top priority. Not only does the world need more efficient ways to utilize conventional energy sources but it is also necessary to find new resources that will help generate additional energy while reducing the carbon footprint and long term environmental negative effects.

As the world's energy capital, Houston understands this need for new innovation within the industry more than most. To help encourage energy technology innovation, HTC assembles a select group of emerging energy technology companies every year for the ETVCC. Matched with an audience of venture capitalists, private equity and corporate investors, angel investors and related financial professionals, emerging energy technology companies are given the opportunity to grow their business and turn promising energy solutions into a reality. The conference also provides energy companies searching innovative technology solutions and investors a platform to identify companies that excel in their field and closely examine innovative technologies and the people who developed them.

HTC plays an important role in the Houston community through commercialization of energy technology, and the improvement of how current resources are utilized. HTC's Energy Program works with startup technology companies that specialize in the development of both conventional and renewable energy solutions, working to decrease the current hydrocarbon footprint we leave behind through traditional methods of energy use.

Gary C. Evans, chairman and chief executive officer of GreenHunter Energy Inc., will be delivering the opening address on March 6th, and John Hofmeister, president of Shell Oil Company, will deliver the keynote address March 7th.
